Oxford and Cambridge Private Day Tour
The Oxbridge Experience from London
** I am unable to guide in Cambridge as only official Cambridge guides are permitted. However, I will be with you the entire time before and after, and I am happy to explore the grounds with you. I can pre-guide you on our way to Cambridge and familiarise you with the culture and history before our arrival. We can then join narrative punting local tours to hear the stories from locals and university students.
This full-day private tour takes you to the two most famous university cities in the world, Oxford and Cambridge.
Together, these historic centers of learning have shaped British culture, science, politics, and literature for centuries.
During the day I guide you through both cities, explaining their history, traditions, and architecture, while showing the colleges, streets, and buildings that made them internationally known.

Full Description
I will meet you at your hotel in London and begin a full-day private tour to Oxford and Cambridge, often called “Oxbridge”, the two great university cities that have played a central role in British intellectual life.
Our first stop is usually Oxford, where teaching has taken place for nearly a thousand years.
As I guide you through the historic centre, you will see the famous colleges, libraries, and courtyards that have educated writers, scientists, kings, and prime ministers.
I explain how the university developed, how the college system works, and why Oxford became one of the most influential places in Europe.
After visiting Oxford, we continue through the countryside towards Cambridge, another world-famous university city with a different character but an equally rich history.
In Cambridge you will see the beautiful college buildings, the River Cam, and the historic streets where generations of scholars lived and worked.
The city is known for its contributions to science and mathematics, and many of the greatest discoveries of the modern age are connected with this university.
This tour involves a long day but offers a rare opportunity to see both university cities in one carefully planned journey.
At the end of the day I return with you to London.
